Types of External Hard Drive

Hard drives or hard disk drives are the part of your computer setup which is used to store the data of your system. When the hard drive of your computer is full and you need more space to store the at that time you require external hard drives to fulfill that requirement. So here in this blog type of external hard drives are describe below.

There are mainly 4 types of external hard drives are available:

1- Enhanced Integrated Drive Electronics: It is one of the external hard drive including parallel advanced technology attachments. But nowadays due to advancement in technology in other drives its popularity become decreases. The fastest and newest EIDE variants use cable of 80 wires while old one works on 40 wire cable. In it hard drive recovery takes some time time because of its slower speed.

2- Serial Advanced Technology Attachments: It is also known as SATA. These are the hard drives with some advanced feature then EIDE describe above. These are less heavy than EIDE. It has a major advantage that it consumes less power comparison to EIDE.

3- Solid State Drives: It is the best hard drive to use for storage the data. It is made up of stationary part that is in it no moving part takes place. It is commonly known as SSD.

4- Small Computer System Interface: It is commonly known as SCSI. It works in same manner as EIDE works but the difference is that it has much faster speed to process and store the data.
